Where are the Igbo people from?

The Igbo people originate from southeastern Nigeria, covering states such as Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo. Significant Igbo populations are also found in parts of Delta, Rivers, and Benue States. Oral traditions and some historical evidence trace the origins of the Igbo to ancient African civilizations, with connections to the Nri Kingdom, which is considered one of the earliest political entities in Igbo history.
